District employees play a vital role in bond proposals and are encouraged to educate themselves on the facts.
While at work, discussions should be limited to sharing information without advocacy. After work hours, employees can express personal opinions, advocate on social media, and encourage voting on their own time. When in doubt just remember: so long as you are not using district resources, you can express your personal opinion.
Once an election is called, advocacy of any kind is prohibited during paid hours. The bottom line: employees can and should discuss and share facts freely, but campaigning must happen separately. Advocacy has its place but not while actively engaged in your employment responsibilities during school hours.
