PUBLIC NOTICE of the intent to apply for ESSER III Funds

Central ISD will apply for ESSER III Federal Grant for 21-22 SY and 22-23 SY (and extend the grant for the 23-24 SY). Central ISD plans to use our entitlement of $2,608,133. 00 to support the intent and purpose of the American Rescue Plan (ARP) of 2021, Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER III) funding which is to help safely reopen and sustain the safe operation of schools and address the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on students. It is tentatively, CISD’s intent to replace HVAC units to improve the indoor air quality, to replace carpet with epoxy flooring, install a paperless software to minimize face to face contact to reduce risk of virus transmission and exposure to environmental health hazards, and support student health needs. Central ISD intends to purchase technology that aids in regular/substantive education interaction between students and instructors, including low-income students, and SWD (students with disabilities). Tentatively, funding will also go toward providing mental health services and supports, planning and implementing summer learning/after-school intensive instruction, classroom instruction, and instructional tools to address learning loss to meet the comprehensive needs of all students, and providing information and assistance to parents and families.
