Welcome to Central ISD! We are excited about the great things happening in our
schools! Please review the the information below and feel free to contact us if we can
help in anyway.

Central ISD is recognized as one of the top school districts in Texas for postsecondary
readiness as part of the new accountability rating. Commissioner of Education Mike
Morath highlighted Central ISD and 60 other school districts and open enrollment
charter schools out of more than 1,200 across the state for distinction designation for
postsecondary readiness. The postsecondary readiness distinction is the only
distinction designation at the district level under the accountability system and includes
factors such as graduation rates, ACT/SAT participation and performance, Career and
Technical Education (CTE) graduates, and dual-credit course completion rates. Also,
Central ISD earned the highest financial rating of Superior Achievement on the
Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas once again this year. Finally, Central ISD has
excellent school facilities. Several years ago, the District made a considerable
investment by passing a $12.5 million-dollar bond issue to build a new elementary
campus and renovate the secondary campuses.

The purpose of Central ISD is to prepare students to graduate and become productive
citizens. Central ISD partners with Angelina College and Stephen F. Austin State
University to prepare our students for college and the workforce. The District pays
tuition for all students taking dual credit courses at Angelina College. Also, students
attending Central High School are provided with Google Chromebooks giving them
access to the latest technology tools.

At Central ISD, we believe in developing a college going culture and workforce
readiness skills that prepare students for the future job market. Our pledge is to give
our very best to make Central ISD is a great place for all students to learn and grow.

Thank you,

Allen Garner
